Microsoft 365 & Exchange.
Background on CodeTwo
CodeTwo was founded in 2007 in Jelenia Góra, Poland, and ranks on this site as the second most used email signature management tool. CodeTwo signature management is built around Microsoft 365 and Exchange IT workflows, with adjacent Exchange Migration and Exchange Backup products. They are a Microsoft Partner. Services run on Microsoft Azure. They publish ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27018 certification, GDPR compliance, and multi-factor authentication.
Teams comparing a CodeTwo alternative for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace usually hit a different set of gaps than they do on Exclaimer. CodeTwo is a credible Microsoft-centric IT pick. Dual-stack Gmail, marketing-owned banners, GCC High, and US-headquartered support are why those teams still short-list Opensense:
- Microsoft 365 and Exchange-centric footprint. The live comparison table marks Gmail as unsupported, even though older primary-focus copy on this page still says “Google Apps.” Until that conflict is checked against CodeTwo’s own product pages, treat the Gmail boolean as the comparison truth.
- Headquarters in Poland. The table records CodeTwo as not US-headquartered.
- Azure-hosted services. Not positioned here as multi-cloud.
- Image and text banner ads exist. Whitelabeled URLs and internal or external multi-recipient targeting do not.
- No multiple-directory sync, real-time compliance audit, or YouTube/Vimeo analytics on the live table.
- Not GCC High compatible, and not SOC 2 compliant, on the live table. The ISO claims stay. We are not swapping them for a SOC 2 we have not seen.
The comparison table above is the live CMS record of those cells. A table row is a tick against a label. The sentences below are what a buyer can restate.
Pricing: MSA clarity, not an invented uplift
There is no published automatic percentage renewal on this CodeTwo page, and we are not inventing one. Re-quote CodeTwo for your seat count and term.
Opensense publishes the rate and the renewal language. Our Master Services Agreement says fees “may increase by a mutually agreed upon amount” on each annual anniversary, and that we give at least 30 days’ written notice of any pricing change before the term ends. Your price is not fixed forever. An increase needs your agreement and advance warning.
Opensense email signature plans are Signature $1, Pipeline $3, and Complete $5 per user per month, with a $500 per month platform minimum plus a service plan. Microsoft 365 GCC High is +$2 per user per month on any plan.
Who should switch, and who should stay
Opensense is the match when one admin model has to cover Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, when marketing needs scheduled banners with recipient or account targeting and click analytics (Pipeline and Complete), or when the tenant is Microsoft 365 GCC High. It is also the match if procurement wants a US-headquartered vendor (San Francisco) with 24/7 US-based phone and email support, and SOC 2 Type II (Security, Confidentiality, Availability) next to the directory sync.
Stay on CodeTwo if you are Microsoft 365 and Exchange only, you want Exchange Migration and Exchange Backup in the same vendor, and you prefer ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27018 plus Poland/Azure hosting over GCC High, dual-stack Gmail, or CRM-tied banners. Opensense does not sell Exchange backup or migration. That is a real reason to keep CodeTwo, not a footnote.
Opensense deploys two ways: an Exchange Online transport rule, the Outlook add-in, or both together. The server-side path uses a transport rule. How CodeTwo currently packages server-side versus client-side or add-in is not a claim this page is willing to invent.
What switching looks like
There is no /migration-from-codetwo page.
- Connect Microsoft 365 (Entra ID) and, if you run it, Google Workspace (Google Directory) so signature fields follow the directory. Map attributes once. Do not expect a one-click import of every CodeTwo rule.
- Rebuild the company signature, departmental variants, disclaimers, and banner rules in Opensense. Bring brand assets.
- Point Exchange Online mail flow at Opensense server-side injection, deploy the Outlook add-in, enable Gmail API signatures, or combine those paths. Disable the CodeTwo path once a pilot group’s outbound mail looks right.
- Send tests from Outlook desktop, Outlook on the web, Outlook Mobile, and Gmail if Gmail is in scope. Then expand the scope.
Most Opensense first deploys finish in about 45 minutes once admin access is ready. Parallel-run length is your change window. Opensense does not claim real-time directory sync.
If you are also short-listing Exclaimer, treat Exclaimer as the stamped Office 365 heritage option. The renewal-uplift comparison lives on that page. This page is not an Exclaimer teardown.
Other spokes: WiseStamp, Sigstr, Crossware, Xink. The full list is on alternatives. This page is a one-to-one CodeTwo comparison, not a ranked listicle.

Frequently asked questions
Is Opensense a CodeTwo alternative?
Yes. Opensense is a CodeTwo alternative for centralized email signatures. Buyers also search that comparison as code2. Opensense covers Microsoft 365 (Outlook desktop, web, and mobile) and Google Workspace from one admin model. The comparison table on this page marks CodeTwo Gmail support as false, so dual-stack coverage is the usual reason teams short-list Opensense next to CodeTwo.
Does Opensense cover Google Workspace if we use CodeTwo on Microsoft 365 today?
Yes. Opensense sets domain-wide Gmail signatures through the Gmail API and syncs user data from Google Directory. The live comparison table on this page marks CodeTwo as not supporting Gmail. Older CodeTwo copy on this site still mentions Google Apps. Until that conflict is resolved against CodeTwo’s own product pages, treat the Gmail boolean as the comparison truth.
Is Opensense available in Microsoft 365 GCC High?
Yes. Opensense is the only email signature platform that operates inside Microsoft 365 GCC High. It is GCC High compatible, not independently FedRAMP, ITAR, or CMMC certified. CodeTwo’s live comparison flag on this page is not GCC High compatible. Details: https://www.opensense.com/gcc-high-email-signatures.
How is Opensense priced?
Signature, Pipeline, and Complete are $1, $3, and $5 per user per month, with a $500 per month platform minimum plus a service plan. Microsoft 365 GCC High is +$2 per user per month. We are not publishing a CodeTwo list price here. Re-quote CodeTwo for your seat count and read both renewal clauses. Opensense increases require mutual agreement and at least 30 days’ written notice (MSA sections 8.1 and 13.2). See https://www.opensense.com/pricing.
What should Microsoft-only teams weigh before leaving CodeTwo?
Stay on CodeTwo if you are Microsoft 365 and Exchange only, you want CodeTwo’s Exchange Migration and Exchange Backup products in the same vendor, and you prefer their ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 27018 story over SOC 2 Type II. Opensense does not sell Exchange backup or migration. The switch is for dual Microsoft 365 plus Google Workspace, marketing-owned banners with recipient targeting, GCC High, or US-headquartered support. That is a footprint difference, not a claim that CodeTwo is a weak Microsoft tool.
Can marketing run targeted banners if we switch from CodeTwo?
Yes on Pipeline and Complete. Opensense runs targeted email ad banners with rotation, scheduling, and recipient or account targeting, plus click tracking. The live comparison table records that CodeTwo has image and text banner ads, and that it does not have whitelabeled URLs or internal or external multi-recipient targeting. We have not independently confirmed CodeTwo’s current rotation or ABM depth, so do not treat those cells as settled.
How does CodeTwo vs Exclaimer compare for email signature management?
They solve overlapping Microsoft 365 signature problems from different catalogues. CodeTwo is the Microsoft Partner, Azure, and ISO/IEC 27001 and 27018 path, with Exchange Migration and Exchange Backup in the same vendor. The live table on this page marks Gmail as unsupported. Exclaimer is the older stamped Office 365 option; the renewal and ownership comparison lives on the Exclaimer alternative page at https://www.opensense.com/alternatives/exclaimer, not here. Opensense is the dual Microsoft 365 plus Google Workspace path, with marketing-owned banners and GCC High. Stay on CodeTwo if you are Microsoft-only and want those adjacent Exchange products. This page is not a ranked listicle.
